Join the fin-tastic Whale Tales art trail from 24 January to 18 April 2022 across Auckland, with 80 individually-painted whale tails to be viewed in parks and open spaces across the city, including Browns Bay. This is a free, family-friendly event.

Use the handy map or download the ‘Whale Tales’ app at the App Store and Google Play to find your way around all the tails, and discover lots of interesting places along the way.

As the sculpture sponsor of the tail that will be displayed in Browns Bay, the Browns Bay Business Association is very excited to show off the beautiful tail that has been created especially for the town.  To find out more about the artist, click here.  While you’re in town, you may also like to visit the mini pod of tails on display at East Coast Bays Library.

When you find a tail, enter the 4-digit code into the app to unlock rewards from the sponsors. Browns Bay businesses have a pod of great rewards for you.

Along the way, you’ll hear the artists’ inspiration behind the works of art, discover some cool facts about whales and other marine life, learn about why the Hauraki Gulf is in trouble, and find out what you can do to help. You can start and end anywhere, there is no correct order.

Share your photos on social media by tagging @whaletales2022 and don’t forget to tag @lovebrownsbay when you post the beautiful Browns Bay tail.

Have a whale of a time on the trail!
