Browns Bay holds several free community events and ‘Shop Local’ promotions each year to involve the community, and thank them for their loyal patronage of local businesses, as well as enticing visitors from further afield.
We are very proud of two signature events that continue to grow exponentially. The first is the Browns Bay Christmas Parade, otherwise known as ‘the biggest little Christmas Parade in Auckland’. It attracts up to 30,000 visitors, and is an amazing way to acknowledge the arrival of the festive season at the seaside. The other signature event is Summer Spectacular, which happens at the height of Summer on the Browns Bay summer beach reserve as a celebration of our beautiful beach and it close connectivity with the town centre.

Get ready for the ultimate Summer Spectacular, where the sun shines, the music blares, and the good times roll. Whether your little ones are outdoor fun seekers, or you’re just looking to unwind, this event has something for everyone. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as the kids enjoy fun activities including ever-popular pony rides, dance sessions, giant games, face painting, and more. Enjoy the live music on stage in Phoenix Plaza and on the beach reserve while you soak up the summer vibes. Browns Bay Beach offers the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable day. Our small local businesses bring this event to you so please shop locally and visit our fabulous eateries to dine across the road from the event, or grab a takeaway and have a picnic on the reserve. Admission to the event is free. $10 charge for kids’ activities covering all of the following:
- pony rides
- bouncy castles
- face painting
- kids’ activities
Cash, credit and eftpos accepted from 9am at the Information station on the boardwalk next to the whale tail sculpture.

Although we love our furry friends in Browns Bay, we ask that you keep your dogs on the leash while at the event.

Mark up your calendar and grab your sunscreen and hats before heading down to Browns Bay Summer Spectacular 2025 for a day of beachside fun while you take in the fresh sea air!
Please note that part of Beach Front Lane will be closed to vehicles for the event so parking will be very limited. We suggest that you park in unrestricted parking west of the town centre (towards Freyberg Park) and get your steps up with a short walk down to the beach.
