Brett Lyons

Reporting Radiologist

Brett wanted to do medicine from a young age and graduated from medicine at the University of Otago in 1992, completing his Diploma of Obstetrics in 1994.  He chose to further specialise in medical imaging because of the challenges associated with rapidly developing technology and the ability to continue an involvement in all medical specialties and all ages.

He has worked as clinical director of radiology at Dunedin Hospital during which time he was also a senior lecturer at the University of Otago.  As a committee member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists he has been an examiner and represented the College with organisations such as the Ministry of Heath, Pharmac and the NZ Telehealth Forum.

More recently Brett has been working in private practice and teleradiology and pursuing his interest in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention.
