DESCRIPTION:UPDATE 15/11/2024:  We’re not going to let a little rain stop us from celebrating! This event will proceed with some minor adjustments as the worst of the wet weather is forecast to pass over by 5pm. Bring your raincoats and make the most of the entertainment and market stalls in Phoenix Plaza from 5pm. Santa will be dropping in around 6pm with his sack of goodies for the little ones. Lights on at 8pm with an extra twinkling surprise for you. \n\n\n\nUPDATE 14/11/2024: Wet weather forecast for our festive party. We are watching weather updates closely and will make a final decision by 11am tomorrow (15th) on whether the event can proceed safely. Check back here for updates before heading down to the event. \n\n\n\n\nLet’s come together to Light Up The Plaza in 2024 for a magical evening filled with kid’s entertainment\, live music\, market stalls and Christmas lights!\n\nWelcome to Light Up The Plaza 2024! Join us on Fri 15 Nov 2024 at Phoenix Plaza. Get ready to experience a magical atmosphere as we illuminate the giant Christmas tree and kick off the festive season in style. See the delight on the little ones’ faces when Santa pops in for an early visit. Don’t miss out – mark up your calendars now! \nIMPORTANT TIMES\n\n4.15pm  Kapa Haka opening ceremony by Northcross Intermediate students \n4.30pm – 6.30pm  kids’ entertainment around the Christmas tree \n6pm – 9pm  live music onstage by the zany\, fun and highly entertaining musical duo Crowded Trousers \n6.30pm – 7pm  Santa’s surprise visit. Festive photo opportunity \n6.50pm  spot prize draw \n7.50pm  spot prize draws. Ultimate winner gets to switch the Christmas tree lights on \n8pm  countdown for the Christmas tree lights being switched on \n9pm  event ends \nChildren must be present at the event to win spot prizes.
