Browns Bay holds several events and promotions each year to involve the community and attract visitors. The best known is the annual Browns Bay Christmas Parade and Carnival, attracting 10,000 visitors. After the excitement of the biggest parade north of the Bridge, you can enjoy live music and entertainment while the kids have fun with a variety of activities at the Carnival and have their photos taken with Santa.

Whale Tales Art Trail, Auckland 2022
January 24 – April 18 UTC+12
IN JANUARY 2022, A TRULY IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE CELEBRATING AOTEAROA, ART, AND MARINE CONSERVATION COMES TO TĀMAKI MAKAURAU. WHALE TALES IS A PUBLIC ART TRAIL EXPLORING THE CITY OF SAILS, AND YOU’RE INVITED!
From 24 January – 18 April 2022 a trail of unique and stunning whale tail sculptures, designed by artists and children, sponsored by business and organisations will animate Tāmaki Makaurau and bring to life themes of protecting and restoring the mauri of our Ocean. Inspired by the Bryde’s Whale, these 80 sculptures will dot Auckland’s streets, parks, and open spaces to provide residents and visitors a fresh opportunity to explore the City of Sails. This is a family-friendly trail that promises to be loads of fun for everyone.
The legacy of Whale Tales will continue long after the fun of the trail has ended with the sculptures being auctioned to raise significant funds to power the vital work WWF-New Zealand does to look after our moana (ocean) and her marine life throughout Aotearoa, particularly in and around the Hauraki Gulf.
Browns Bay is excited to be one of the locations that will display a whale tail, and we can’t wait to show it off. You can read more about this fantastic event and, and about the tail that the Browns Bay Business Association has sponsored here.
