Browns Bay holds several free community events and ‘shop local’ promotions each year to involve and thank the community for their loyalty to our local businesses, as well as and attracting visitors from further afield. Our signature event is the annual Browns Bay Christmas Parade which attracts up to 10,000 visitors. We also love having outdoor movies on the beach reserve in a perfect summertime setting, and Father’s Day Boys Toys (first Sunday in September) is becoming a very popular recurring family event.
March 5, 2023 @ 6:00 am – 11:00 am
This is one of the only community run markets in New Zealand. Stallholder site fees go towards local community projects, including the local coast guard unit. There is a range of goods for sale and stalls are constantly changing, from tools and antiques, designer clothes, books, second hand clothes, bags, handcrafts, art, hand made jewellery, a wide variety of fresh produce, home baking, flowers, plants, free range eggs and honey.
If are interested in holding a stall at this market, all you have to do is arrive on the day before 6-30am dependent on weather. The cost per site is $15, with additional costs for a table and gazebo if required. For more information visit the Browns Bay Market Website or check out their Facebook page below.
