Browns Bay holds several events and promotions each year to involve the community and attract visitors. The best known is the annual Browns Bay Christmas Parade and Carnival, attracting 10,000 visitors. After the excitement of the biggest parade north of the Bridge, you can enjoy live music and entertainment while the kids have fun with a variety of activities at the Carnival and have their photos taken with Santa.

Bring the entire family to Browns Bay beach for a spectacular weekend of fun in celebration of summer in our beautiful seaside town. There’s something happening for everyone. Here’s a rundown of the events.
SATURDAY, 13 FEBRUARY 2021
The weekend kicks off with a long lunch on Beachfront Lane from 12.30pm. The cafes and restaurants along the beachfront strip will be laying on additional al fresco dining, and look out for their Summer Spectacular menu specials. Participating eateries include:
- 21 Days Bar & Brasserie
- Azul Eatery
- Speakers Corner Ale House
- GingerSnap Cafe
- The Stoned Cow Cafe & Art
- Java Jungle Cafe
- Beach Bistro
- The Clyde Bar & Restaurant
- Deep Creek Brews & Eats
- The Bays Club (members only)
Take the kids across the road to the beachfront reserve to expend some energy on funfair rides, an inflatable obstacle course, and pony rides. There’ll also be barnyard animals, face painting and, of course, the ToyVan brimming with fun toys. There will be an all-day charge of $10 per person for the rides; go as many times as you like. Wrist bands will be available to purchase at the Information marquee on the beachfront reserve on the day, which will give you access to the rides.
The kids can also have a great time in Phoenix Plaza playing with the giant games. No charge.
Refuel the little ones at Browns Bay’s huge choice of eateries before the open air movies start with Incredibles 2 (PG) at 5.00pm on the beachfront reserve (opposite Phoenix Plaza). Then there’s a treat for the adults – Grease at 7.15pm. We encourage audience participation! Bring your picnic blanket, movie treats and BYO drinks along.
SUNDAY, 14 FEBRUARY 2021
Make sure your team and homemade raft are on the beach ready to race out to the floating pontoon and back at 10.00am. Always great fun and a good giggle, bring family and friends along to cheer your team on. Prizegiving will be held directly afterwards. If you want to enter a raft but haven’t completed an entry form yet, email Sally Cargill for an entry form.
Enter the Coastguard North Shore Big Dig and Sand Castle Competition on the beach from 1.00pm. As this is a fundraising event for Coastguard there will be an entry fee of $5.00. You can buy your ticket at the Information marquee on the beachfront reserve on the day.
A great lineup of live music starts at noon onstage on the beachfront reserve. Grab a takeaway or bring a BYO picnic along and relax for the afternoon while you enjoy some fabulous sounds, including The Renegades. Learn to salsa with a professional dance instructor at 6.30pm before treating your one and only to the Valentine’s Dance at 7.00pm to round off the weekend of events.
TRAFFIC & PARKING
Beachfront Lane will be open to one-way traffic (north to south) only on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February for the duration of this event.
Parking will not be available on the built up side of Beachfront Lane. Parking will continue to be available on the beach side of the road.
We suggest that if you are coming to the event by car, you park in the large carpark at 25 Anzac Road, or on Glen, Bute, Inverness, and Anzac Roads beyond Glen Road. These locations are only 5 minutes walk from the beach and are free parking areas.
